Contraindications - When is
Cardiac Shock Wave Therapy (CSWT) not suitable?
Application of CSWT: Careful assessment and individual decision
When CSWT should not be used or not yet be used
Cardiac shock wave therapy (CSWT) is a very well-tolerated, scientifically proven, and safe procedure that we perform in our practice only after thorough diagnosis and individual assessment.
As with any medical treatment, however, there are situations in which CSWT is unfortunately not or not yet indicated.
Possible contraindications include, but are not limited to:
- Acute inflammation of the heart or blood vessels
- Recently occurred myocardial infarction
- Non-stabilized cardiac arrhythmias
- Severe, uncontrolled high blood pressure situations
- Active infections
- Pregnancy
Schlosspraxen Hachenburg: We
examine each case - individually
and with medical care
We also do not perform treatment with cardiac shock wave therapy during an active infection or during pregnancy.
It is important to us that these exclusion criteria are not assessed across the board, but always on a patient-specific basis. At Schlosspraxen Meyer, we take the time to carefully review each medical history in order to realistically weigh up the benefits and risks.
If any of these situations apply to you, we will of course discuss the best alternatives and the appropriate time for possible later treatment with CSWT.
