CSWT – Our new website is online: Welcome to a new era of cardiac medicine
Shock waves for the heart – modern, gentle, scientifically sound. At Schlosspraxen Meyer, we are breaking new ground to ensure that your heart health has a future.
Cardiology has achieved great things in recent decades: numerous medications have been further developed, optimized stents and bypasses have revolutionized interventional medicine, and faster diagnostics save lives every day.
However, where the classic options are exhausted, many affected people are still faced with a sobering question: “What else can I do?”
Cardiac medicine in transition – and we are helping to shape this change
The Cardiac Shock Wave Therapy (CSWT) opens up a completely new path here – gentle, outpatient, non-invasive and based on a biological principle that is as old as life itself: regeneration.
With our new website CSWT-MEYER.DE, we would like to explain this possibility of regeneration therapy to you, make it understandable and carry it visibly into the world – for patients, relatives, medical colleagues and everyone who is concerned with heart health.
Why we are taking a new step with CSWT: Using progress, making progress tangible
The fact that our website on cardiac shock wave CSWT-MEYER.DE is now online is not just an information step, but a signal for medical innovation, responsibility and the desire to enable new paths for our patients.
Because: At Schlosspraxen Meyer, we are convinced that cardiac medicine can do more than just treat, stabilize and manage conservatively. Innovative cardiology can now also be gentle, it can activate the self-healing powers, promote regeneration – specifically exactly where the body needs it.
CSWT offers exactly that for the first time in cardiology: It delivers low-energy, precise shock wave impulses exactly to those areas of the heart that are underperfused. These mechanical stimuli activate mechanotransduction – i.e. the body’s ability to translate mechanical signals into healing and remodeling processes. Or, to put it simply:
“The body does not receive any foreign substances – it receives an impulse. It does the rest itself.”
The shock waves of cardiac shock wave therapy (CSWT) do not (yet) replace a stent or bypass. However, these shock waves, also known as sound or pressure waves, can provide support where stress peaks remain, complaints persist or further interventions are not possible. This is no longer a vision of the future – it is already a reality.
Christian G. Meyer, MD: The first resident specialist in the German-speaking area to offer CSWT
Dr. Christian G. Meyer, co-owner of Schlosspraxen Meyer in Hachenburg, is the first resident specialist in cardiology in the German-speaking area to offer cardiac shock wave therapy CSWT, this innovative procedure (as of December 2025).
His path to the decision to use CSWT in practice for the first time is no coincidence, but the logical consequence of an attitude that has accompanied him since his extensive training: Not everything that helps has to cut. Not every therapy has to be stressful. And with CSWT, an impulse is now enough to remind the body what it is capable of.
With his broad experience in intensive care medicine, emergency room, cardiac catheter laboratory, palliative medicine and research, Dr. Meyer knows what the limits of classic procedures look like – and how great the longing of many patients (and also doctors) is for alternatives or scientific advances that have a gentler effect, are more biologically intelligent and consider the person as a whole.
CSWT makes exactly that possible: it is a cardiological procedure that works not only with pharmacological or surgical means, but also with physical impulses that can promote cell metabolism, blood circulation and regeneration.
Because the human body is not just a chemical system – it is also an electrochemical and mechanosensitive organism. Our cells communicate and act not only biochemically (medications), but also via electrical impulses, membrane potentials and mechanical stimuli. The new CSWT uses exactly this language for the first time.
What our new website should achieve – knowledge for patients, relatives, colleagues and society
Our new website CSWT-MEYER.DE should not advertise, but educate; not promise, but inform; show new possibilities without creating false expectations.
It offers understandable insights into the basics of shock wave medicine and the mechanism of action of mechanotransduction, both in text and in image and sound, describes transparently the course of treatment with CSWT – from preparation to the session rhythm to the question of when and how improvements can be felt – and it answers the most important questions about safety, tolerability, potential effectiveness and the scientific basis.
Therefore, you will also find here an overview of clinical studies on CSWT, regular articles on new developments in cardiology as well as insights into our practice – from training courses and congresses to experience reports and current research impulses that shape our medical actions.
Forward-looking and with professional expertise – because cardiac medicine never stands still
For us, CSWT is lived medical progress – for the benefit of our patients. The history of cardiology has always consisted of courageous decisions, research and people who were willing to implement new things. Cardiac shock wave therapy is another chapter in this development. And we are grateful to be able to help write it.
Welcome to our new website on CSWT – we look forward to accompanying you through this exciting future of cardiac medicine and are personally available to answer all your individual questions.
Sincerely,
Your Christian G. Meyer, MD & the entire team of Schlosspraxen Hachenburg
